Digital Painting Picture Book of Goldilocks and the Three Bears

I’ve moved my art practice into the digital realm and embraced digital painting. It is so much easier to find half an hour in the evenings to paint this way. I just don’t have the time or space to use real paints at the moment, and Procreate with a pen and tablet is a decent equivalent.

So, after about six months of scratching away at this project every evening, after work and my daughter’s bedtime routine, I have completed my first picture book of digital paintings! It is based on the public domain story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and is published on Amazon here: https://amzn.eu/d/6bcVuF2

Here are a few sample pages. I hope you like them… let me know in the comments 🙂

Allotment Pattern

Those drawings I did a few weeks back from sketches on the allotment: just made them into a pattern…

Allotment repeat pattern

I like the community spirit, the hub of creative activity and nurturing. I’d like to see it on a tea towel.

Parsley and Chives

Parsley Blue
Blue wash, for a china pattern

Parsley purple and layered

These illustrations started out as a series of drawings of herbs, this and the bay leaf have made it into pattern form (I used the bay in the canary pattern).  I think this one would make a nice china pattern. I might work on the others at some point, there was one of thyme I rather liked.
